🍇My practical training

Today, I'm writing this blog in English .

I went to my practical training at a kindergarten for 4 weeks.👼👼👼

I was assigned to a class of 3-year-ords.

I have learned and realized 3 important things.

First, to cherish the world of children.🧚‍♂️

When I practiced in front of the children for the first time.

I said “I will read a picture book today.”

But my teacher said “It was a little bit unnatural, please cherish the children’s fantasy world”.

Based on her advice, I told the children to read a picture book, “My friends came to see you today”.

Children, especially 3 year olds, love strange things like fantasy.

I learned that it is important to cherish the world of children in daily childcare.

Second, to believe in a child’s (growing) power.👀

In May, many children were not used to kindergarten yet.

So, it looked like a zoo.

However, after 4 weeks the girl who had been crying in front of the kindergarten’s gate all day long, could play with teachers and friends while smiling.

I learned that teachers could build a trusting relationship with children by watching a child’s pace in daily childcare.

And as a results, it is a catalyst in guiding children’s (growing) power.

I learned that it is important to engage with children by believing in the power of children.

Third, it’s about my own thing.🐮

Before the practical training, I was going to apply to be a JICA volunteer as a nursery or kindergarten teacher after graduation.

In fact, 3 years of practical experience was necessary for entry.

I thought I could pass if I had enough motivation.

But during my practical training I realized that I still didn’t have enough practical skills.

As a result, I failed the JICA volunteer selection process in the first round.

I was a little sad, but I’m satisfied with the result.

I realized that I am suited for work related to children.

So now I’m going to become a teacher at a nursery or kindergarten in Japan, then after about 1~3 years pass, I’m going to try to become a JICA volunteer again.

For 4 weeks, various things happened, but it was a very meaningful time for me.

はい、勉強がてら英語で書いてみました。

要約すると、教育実習でした、という話です。

でもって、子どもの世界を大切にすること、子どもの成長する力を信じることが大切だと身をもって学んだよ、という話です。

そして２個前の記事でワイは青年海外協力隊（上の英文ではJICA volunteerと書いてます）目指します！とお話ししたのですが、教育実習期間中に落ちた&今の自分じゃ無理だと気付いたと言うわけでとりあえず保育士になることにしました、という進路変更のお話も一緒にしました。

な〜んか、ころころころころころ✋🏻おむすびころりんか🍙？ってくらい進路変更してる気がするんですけど、まあなんとなくなるというよりは、大きな目標（協力隊）があって進んでるという感じなので、あたたかく見守ってもらえればと思います。
